Munich: Speedy old hands and young drivers ready to go on the offensive for HB Racing from Austria who intend to be front-runners with a strong quartet of drivers for their debut season in the ADAC GT Masters, fielding two Lamborghini Huracáns. Norbert Siedler (33, A) and Jaap van Lagen (39, NL) form a driver pairing whose job will be to fight for victory, while the two new entrants to the ADAC GT Masters, Elia Erhart (27, DEU) and Kelvin Snoeks (28, NL) gain their first experience of the Super Sports Car League. The ADAC GT Masters will get the 2016 season under way on the weekend of April 15th-17th in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. SPORT1 will broadcast all races live and in full.
Siedler is very confident about his first season with HB Racing: "We can't wait to see how we do in the Huracán," said the 33-year-old. "The ADAC GT Masters is a hard-fought series, but top rankings are a real possibility with the help of my team-mate, Jaap van Lagen."
Regular points-scoring finishes are the goal for newcomers Snoeks and Erhart. The Dutchman is moving to the ADAC GT Masters from the Lamborghini Super Trofeo one-make cup. Bavarian driver Erhart has raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany for the past four years. Some new experiences are in store for Erhart, the 27-year-old says: "I'll be sharing a cockpit with a second driver for the first time, so now, not only will individual driving skill be important but team spirit as well. It will be a tough year, but I'll do my best."
Team boss Dietmar Hirsch is looking forward to his outfit's first season in the ADAC GT Masters: "Anticipation of the first race weekend in Oschersleben grows stronger with each day that passes. We've worked flat-out to prepare for the start of the season in recent weeks and months and have put together a solid team for the new season. Norbert and Jaap form a strong pairing that can fight for wins and podiums, while Elia and Kelvin complete our squad as a second strong driver combo. I would like to thank all our partners and especially Lamborghini for their support."
All ADAC GT Masters races will once again be broadcast live and in full during 2016 by SPORT1 on free-to-air TV.
