Third season in ADAC GT Masters for RWT Racing
Munich: Well-proven US muscle car power for third full ADAC GT Masters season. RWT Racing Team will be back in the Super Sports Car League in 2016 with a tried and tested technology package. The team led by Gerd Beisel will field the Corvette Z06 which is one of the longest serving and also one of the most successful supercars in the series. The team will confirm drivers of the RWT Corvette at a later date. The ADAC GT Masters will get the 2016 season under way on the weekend of April 15th-17th in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
“We’re looking forward to the new motor racing year. We hope to do well again and maybe pull one or two rabbits out of the bag,” said team manager Gerd Beisel, setting out their goals. “In the past, there has been the occasional setback along with the successes. You learn from that and can then go about your day in an optimistic frame of mind.” RWT will continue to work closely with Callaway Competition run by Ernst Wöhr and Giovanni Ciccone as they deploy the Corvette. Beisel: “I think that basically, we can finish in the Top Ten at certain racetracks and aim to do just that again in 2016.”
RWT were in contention for the Gentlemen title in the 2015 season finale. The Corvette team secured their maiden victory in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring in 2014.
All ADAC GT Masters races will once again be broadcast live and in full during 2016 by SPORT1 on free-to-air TV. The 2016 ADAC GT Masters season opens on the weekend of April 15th-17th, 2016, in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Advance tickets are available online at www.adac.de/motorsport.
