DF1 secures live rights for MotoGP from ServusTV and will show 12 races on free-to-air TV from the 2024 season

  • Proven team of ServusTV experts to keep DF1 viewers up to speed
  • Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany and DF1 agree on collaboration

Munich. Fantastic news for all MotoGP fans: Up until the 2026 season, new HD premium station DF1 will broadcast selected races from the pinnacle of two-wheeled racing live on free-to-air German TV. In collaboration with private Austrian station ServusTV, DF1 has secured an attractive broadcasting package, which also includes Moto2 and Moto3. The team of experts will report directly from the circuit at a total of twelve selected rounds of the world championship per year, including the LIQUI MOLY Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany (5th to 7th July). The offering kicks off this weekend (22nd to 24th March) with the first European event of the MotoGP season in Portimão, Portugal.

“We are pleased that the world championship race at the Sachsenring has found a new home on free-to-air German TV. It is the largest individual sporting event in Germany and an absolute spectator magnet for all motorcycle fans. The visitors remain as passionate as ever and will once again create a unique backdrop this year,” says ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss. Thanks to a new partnership between the Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany and DF1, grandstand 1 at the Sachsenring will be renamed the DF1 stand. The TV station will also be present in the fan areas at the racetrack.

The new TV deal sends out a strong signal in favour of Germany as a world championship venue. Thanks to the coverage on free-to-air television, TV viewers can look forward to top-class motorcycle racing. As well as the broadcasts on TV, the two-wheel specialists will also be streamed live at df1.de. In the 75th year of MotoGP, the cult ServusTV duo of Christian Brugger and Alex Hofmann will present twelve races in this season’s motorcycle world championship. Reporting from the circuit will be Alina Marzi and Eve Scheer, ably assisted by experts Stefan Bradl, Gustl Auinger and Sandro Cortese.

“We are thrilled to have taken over the free-to-air rights for MotoGP for the German market from this season, and would like to thank all our partners for putting their trust in our station, which is still relatively new. We aim to use this collaboration to promote the passion for motorsport in Germany and to offer fans unforgettable racing action,” says David Müller, managing director of DF1 Medien GmbH.

Last year, the 25th world championship race in a row in Hohenstein-Ernstthal set another crowd record. 233,196 spectators watched MotoGP live at the circuit across three days. Tickets for the motorcycle highlight in German yare available from the online shop at adac.de/motogp, by phone on 03723/8099111, and by E-mail to info@sachsenring-event.de.
