Fans back at the Sachsenring: Motorcycle Grand Prix free from coronavirus restrictions

  • Spectators return to Germany’s largest individual sporting event
  • Extensive support programme in the karting hall and on Ankerberg
  • Tickets still available for the race in June at adac.de/motogp

Munich. MotoGP fans will return to the Sachsenring in June: The 2022 LIQUI MOLY Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany will open all its gates and grandstands to fans of MotoGP again this year. As the coronavirus regulations currently stand in Saxony, the German round of the Motorcycle World Championship will take place without any spectator restrictions from 17th to 19th June. Entry requirements like 2G and 3G regulations do not apply to a visit to the Motorcycle Grand Prix, masks are not mandatory. This means that all the fans attending the highlight of the motorsport year will be able to cheer on the stars of the two-wheel racing scene, including world champion Fabio Quartararo, as usual.

Doing away with restrictions has also paved the way for the return of the extensive support programme around the racetrack. The Charity Run on the Wednesday will kick off the LIQUI MOLY Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany for the first time since 2019. The historic motorcycle exhibition and popular Red Bull racing circus will also provide excellent entertainment from Friday to Sunday.

The karting hall will once again be transformed into the party centre this year. As well as the traditional rider presentation on the Saturday, a big party is also planned for Friday and Saturday evening. The iconic Ankerberg will also open its doors and will be used as a campsite for fans during the race week.

Cards for the largest individual sporting event in Germany are still available in the online ticket shop at adac.de/motogp, and can also be ordered over the phone (03723/8099111) or by E-mail (info@sachsenring-event.de). Tickets purchased for the 2020 and 2021 Motorcycle Grand Prix remain valid for the 2022 race weekend. There is no need to exchange entry tickets. This ensures that ticket holders are already assured of their desired seats for this year’s MotoGP weekend. As the coronavirus pandemic is a dynamic situation, it is possible that official regulations may change by the start of the event.
