Common cause: Motorrad Grand Prix and ZT-Tuning raffle off unique Simson moped

  • Prize draw to win an exclusive Simson model in Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany livery
  • Prize to be presented during rider presentation at Liqui Moly Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany
  • ZT-Tuning brings regional bike culture to the MotoGP stage

Munich. A special highlight awaits fans away from the track at the Liqui Moly Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany at the Sachsenring: together with ZT-Tuning, the organiser of the German round of the MotoGP championship is raffling off an exclusive prize - the "Simson S90 Sachsenring Motorcycle Grand Prix Moped". The striking moped will be presented to the lucky winner at the rider presentation during the race weekend (10th to 12th July), combining regional bike culture with the fascination of the only MotoGP race in Germany.

This unique item is based on a Simson S51, which has been given a complete overhaul. The refurbished and powder-coated main frame provides the foundation for a vehicle that has been redeveloped in many areas. Roughly 90 percent of the components installed were produced in-house by ZT-Tuning. At the heart is a 90-cm³ engine with five-speed gearbox and roughly 10 hp, which was also developed by ZT-Tuning.

The chassis has also been consistently set up to have a sporty design. Adjustable shock absorbers, an optimal front fork, and a high-performance 320-millimetre disc brake system ensure the bike has modern riding characteristics.

The special edition model in the Motorcycle Grand Prix design is another extraordinary highlight on the event programme for the Liqui Moly Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany, and brings a special Simson project from the local region to the fore at the only German round of the MotoGP championship. For ZT-Tuning, the Motorcycle Grand Prix project is part of a sustained course of growth: formed by the merging of "OS-Tuning" and "MR-Racing" in 2009, the company is investing roughly € 13 million in a new site in Weischlitz. The Simson specialist, which currently employs about 25 people, has established itself as a big name on the market with racing and production engines, its own spare and tuning parts, and individual vehicle concepts.

The competition will be launched on 19th June 2026 on the social media channels of the Liqui Moly Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany (@motogp_deutschland).
