Stunt Shows, Charity Run, and Hero Walk: Sachsenring to Become Festival of Superlatives

  • MotoGP event promises exciting weekend with packed programme
  • Ankerberg and karting hall as party zones at Liqui Moly MotoGP Germany
  • BplusL Fan Tower and Dekra big wheel ensure best view at world championship event

Hohenstein-Ernstthal. The Liqui Moly MotoGP Germany will transform the Sachsenring into an arena for one of the biggest motorsport events of the year from 11th to 13th July. Fans can look forward to a spectacular programme that goes far beyond thrilling races: For five days, the Sachsenring will celebrate a festival of superlatives. At the only German world championship round of the MotoGP, spectators can enjoy highlights such as exciting stunt shows with the Red Bull Racing Circus, the MotoGP Hero Walk, and the legendary Ankerberg party zone. The BplusL Charity Run gets things underway on the Wednesday (9th July) – all proceeds from the race will be donated to charitable causes.

The Liqui Molo MotoGP Germany gives fans the closest-possible access to the MotoGP stars. During the pit walk on the Thursday, spectators will have the opportunity to watch their heroes and the teams at work in the pit lane. The MotoGP Hero Walk puts the spotlight on the riders once again: On the Saturday afternoon, the Moto2 and Moto3 riders will introduce themselves in the karting hall. Then, on the Sunday morning after the riders’ parade, the MotoGP riders will gather for the Hero Walk.

The traditional party hotspot at the Sachsenring is the karting hall: On the Friday evening, the band Rockpirat will be one of the acts getting the party started, on the Saturday, DJ Newtronic will be doing a set. In addition, the karting hall will host fans for a traditional highlight of the programme on the Saturday evening, the riders’ presentation. Ankerberg also promises a fantastic atmosphere, with the famous Ankerberg Festival drawing crowds of revellers over three days. A real eye-catcher at the Liqui Moly MotoGP Germany will be the Dekra big wheel, which will be rotating into the night every day of the event and will provide a fabulous view of the event site. The BplusL Fan Tower, which will be behind the T2 stand, will also offer an impressive panorama. The award ceremony for the MotoGP sprint race will be held in front of this stand on the Saturday afternoon.

In paddock 3, the Red Bull Racing Circus will be staging a spectacular programme for fans over three days – with stunt shows, autograph sessions, successful Red Bull motorcycles and racing cars on display, and a Hall of Fame. The Red Bull Racing Circus will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Sunday. Fans can also enjoy breath-taking stunt shows between the Moto2 and MotoGP races on the Sunday afternoon. An air show completes the action-packed programme.

Some ticket categories are almost sold out, however, there are still seats available in the stands in various areas. Children under 14 can enjoy free entry to the standing areas when accompanied by a paying adult. New for this year: The children’s ticket costs just five euros and makes a lovely souvenir that also has room for emergency contact details. Tickets for the Liqui Moly MotoGP Germany start at 39 euros and are available online at adac.de/motogp, via telephone on the hotline number 03723/8099111, or via e-mail at info@sachsenring-event.de.
