2014 ADAC Rallye Deutschland Show Start in Trier Again

  • WRC driver presentation against historic backdrop of Porta Nigra again
  • Tickets already available in pre-sale
  • ADAC Rallye Deutschland start and finish in Trier until 2016

The ADAC Rallye Deutschland, one of the highlights on the international motor sport calendar returns to Trier for its start. After last year’s kick-off in front of the Cologne cathedral, the historic Porta Nigra will be the site of the Show Start and concluding podium ceremony for the 12th edition of the German FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) rally and will remain the scheduled location until 2016. As in previous years, the Rally Headquarters and Service Park will also be located in Trier.

Said ADAC Motor Sport President Hermann Tomczyk: “Trier is and remains the home of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. The city offers the perfect conditions for staging the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. I am very content that we were able to reach an agreement that will give the planners of all parties involved security until 2016. Here, I would like to thank Trier’s Lord Mayor Klaus Jensen and Commissioner Economics Thomas Egger in particular.”

Lord Mayor Jensen also welcomes the return of the rally to Trier: “This is good news – not just for the motor sport enthusiasts in and around Trier but for our economy as well. For us, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland is a significant major event in many respects and we have had a good and long-standing working relationship with its organisers for many years which can now continue at least until 2016.”

Preparatory planning for the 2014 ADAC Rallye Deutschland is in full swing. This year a major focus for the organisers is further improvements in safety – which has been ex-emplary by all standards. To this end, ADAC has initiated or joined a number of national and international bodies and committees. The FIA has been attesting highest safety standards to the ADAC Rallye Deutschland for years.

This year, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland will take place from 21 to 24 August. On 21 August, WRC stars such as World Champion Sébastien Ogier, drivers Mikko Hirvonen, Robert Kubica, Thierry Neuville and their fellow rally-racers will show off their impressive high-tech WRC cars in Trier against the magnificent historic monument in the old town of Germany’s oldest city. With the first Special Stages in the ADAC Rallye Deutschland, the actual 2014 competition will begin the next day. The itinerary in the greater Trier region has a few exciting innovations to offer.

2014 ADAC Rallye Deutschland information:

The ADAC Rallye Deutschland means singular excitement and motor sport at its best. Special Stages in the bent and narrow of the Mosel vineyards, tough pistes on the Baumholder military range (Arena Panzerplatte) and hot fights on the fast asphalt sec-tions are a supreme challenge for the participants. Due to its diversity, the German WRC event is actually three different rallies rolled into one. A challenge to the drivers – a mermaid’s call to the fans who come flocking in from all over Europe and give the ADAC Rallye Deutschland its unique character.

The 2014 ADAC Rallye Deutschland will be the ideal opportunity to witness the racing skills of World Champion Sébastien Ogier and his competitors at close quarters. Attrac-tive Special Stages with spectacular speed drifts and high-speed stunts await the spec-tators at the 12th edition of the German WRC event. Traditionally, the Rallye Deutsch-land begins with the drivers’ presentation and ends with the podium ceremony at Trier’s ancient Roman gate, the Porta Nigra.
