ADAC Rallye Deutschland Celebrates its Winners

  • Podium ceremony on Sunday, 25 August 2013, at Trier’s Porta Nigra gate
  • Interesting supporting events for the fans

Munich/Trier, 21 August 2013 – The wait is over: Thursday, 22 August, will mark the start of this year’s ADAC Rallye Deutschland (22 - 25 August 2013). An expected 200,000 spectators are in for spectacular drifts from WRC aces such as Sébastien Ogier or Mikko Hirvonen and German driver Sepp Wiegand. For the first time ever, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland will start with a drivers’ presentation on Roncalliplatz right in front of the Cologne cathedral. Once again, the historic Porta Nigra gate in Trier will provide the unique backdrop for the podium ceremony of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland.

The German event of the FIA WRC has never been more highly anticipated by the world of motor sport than this year: Will Sébastian Ogier secure the WRC crown in Germany? He could – provided he stays 22 points ahead of his colleagues, Jari-Matti Latvala and Thierry Neuville. Will Citroën resume its winning streak of the past few years? Or will a dark horse win?

All these questions will be answered at the podium ceremony of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland on Sunday, 25 August in front of Trier’s ancient Porta Nigra gate. Once again, the world-famous Roman city gate will provide the ideal backdrop for the fans to celebrate their rally heroes. In addition to the national anthem for the winner and the obligatory Mosel champagne showers after the ceremony, the spectators are in for a pre-show including interviews, show acts presented by Red Bull and live music.

The richly varied programme is bound to hold something for everybody – whether they are rally fans or not. Admission will be free. The supporting events start at 12:40h, and the podium ceremony for the winners of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2013 begins at 14:00h.

Classic Cars

Dreams come true. At least for those fans who have always wanted to take a closer look at vintage dream cars. They can do so at the podium ceremony of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. There will be a 20-minute presentation of vintage rally cars on a podium ramp right in front of the Porta Nigra gate.

Live Band

“Pratzbähnt“ – a dialect wordplay on “brass band“ and “loud music” – is the name of a new band from Trier who will entertain spectators in two live concerts. The six young musicians have already played before large crowds; for instance, they performed at the Rheinland-Pfalz Tag festival.

Sweepstakes

With the successful contenders in the rally, the participants in the great ADAC Rallye Deutschland sweepstakes will likewise be looking impatiently forward to the Trier finale. Reason: The main prizes in the on-line sweepstakes, including a brand-new Opel ADAM worth €20,000 and the original rally overall worn by Sébastien Ogier at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland, will be given away next to the Porta Nigra gate. One lucky winner will get to sit next to racing legend Hans-Joachim Stuck in a Red Bull Audi R8 LMS for one lap on the Nordschleife. Anyone can try their luck until 24 August 2013 by simply clicking the “Gewinnspiel” or “Competition” buttons at www.adac.de/motorsport or http://www.adac-rallye-deutschland.de and registering.
