- Driver’s presentation and podium ceremony at the Service Park at Bostalsee
- New design of the rally Saturday is to enhance spectator friendliness
- New Power Stage in the Mosel vineyards on the final day
Munich. Preparations for the German event of the FIA World Rally Championship are in full swing. The itinerary of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland (22 to 25 August) is also beginning to take shape: it includes 19 Special Stages (SS) covering over 340 kilometres in the Saarland and neighbouring Mosel and Hunsrück regions. Both the spectators and participants can look forward to many exciting innovations, a compact format with added spectator friendliness in and around the Service Park at Bostalsee.
Drivers’ presentation in the Bostalsee Service Park and new first stage
New feature right at the beginning: the official ceremonial start of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland on Thursday (22 August) will for the first time take place in the Service Park at Bostalsee – where it was already located in the two previous years. Centrally located in the northern Saarland, the Service Park is the ideal place for quickly getting to all locations of the rally. After the ceremonial start, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland will finally kick off in the immediate vicinity of the Service Park: Thursday night’s new first St Wendeler Land SS will provide a first taste of the rally action yet to come; the drivers will start to get ready for the Special Stage at the Shakedown already in the morning.
Vineyards and a fast circuit stage on the rally Friday
The preliminary itinerary of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland includes six Special Stages on Friday (23 August). As usual, the main venue on Friday will be the vineyards of the Mosel region where the participants will tackle both the Stein und Wein SS and the Mittelmosel SS near Trier twice. Another highlight will be the Wadern-Weiskirchen circuit stage north of Saarbrücken where again the rally cars will zoom past the spectators twice.
New design of the rally Saturday for more spectator friendliness
The Saturday (24 August) will get a new structure this year. For the fans to see even more action – within short distances and with easy transfers – the rally in the afternoon will take place in another location than the one in the morning. In the morning, the rally teams will launch twice into both the Freisen SS and Römerstraße SS near St Wendel. After the lunchtime servicing at Bostalsee, the rally will move to the Baumholder military range for some spectacular action. In addition to the two approx. 10km Arena Panzerplatte SS, the rally teams will demonstrate their skills in the supreme test, the marathon Panzerplatte stage, which will also be run twice.
Vineyards and new Power Stage on the final day
On the final day, 25 August, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland will return to the Mosel vineyards – which is exactly where the 2019 winner will be determined. The two runs on the almost 30km Grafschaft SS will be an XXL challenge. For the first time since 2016, the Dhrontal SS with its legendary Galeria Dhron spectator area is back on the rally itinerary. The second run of this popular vineyard stage will be a new Power Stage where the WRC drivers will be going for valuable bonus points. Finally, the rally teams will return to the Service Park for the official podium ceremony of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland.
