New Clerk of the Course for the ADAC Rallye Deutschland
Alfred Rommelfanger resigns as Clerk of the Course of the ADAC Rallye DeutschlandFriedhelm Kissel to succeed him in 2017
Munich. The ADAC Rallye Deutschland, the German FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) event, will have a new Clerk of the Course for the 2017 season. Having held the position for four years, Alfred Rommelfanger (61) has handed over the reins of the German WRC rally to Friedhelm Kissel (67). Kissel is Head of Sport Division, ADAC Pfalz e.V. (regional club), and already held the position of Clerk of the Course of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland between 1993 and 2002 when it still was part of the European Rally Championship. He was involved in all ADAC Rallye Deutschland events either as competitor or in the event’s organisation. Kissel has been deputy Clerk of the Course ever since the ADAC Rallye Deutschland became a WRC rally.
“We thank Alfred Rommelfanger for his commitment at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland”, says ADAC Motor Sport President Hermann Tomczyk. “He has been closely linked to the ADAC Rallye Deutschland for more than three decades. His activities range from competitor in the 1980s to Safety Officer to his four-year stint as Clerk of the Course. He has played a key role in the success of the rally, which is one of the most popular sports events in Germany today, attracting many spectators. In fact, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland will have featured in the WRC calendar 15 times in the coming year. We wish Alfred Rommelfanger all the very best for the future.”
Rommelfanger: “Having been Clerk of the Course in four successful events, I have decided on personal grounds to resign from this rally office”. “I take this opportunity to thank all participants and ADAC for the good cooperation in the past decades. I wish my successor Friedhelm Kissel all the best and every success for his new tasks. He has known the ADAC Rallye Deutschland from the very first minute, both as a competitor and as a long-time member of the organisation team.”
“Having been Clerk of the Course of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland while it was still a European sanctioned event, I am very pleased to be holding this office at a WRC event and thank ADAC e.V. for their trust and support”, says Friedhelm Kissel. “Organising a WRC rally is one of the most complex tasks in motor sport. Luckily, we can count on the support of all 18 ADAC zurück zur Übersicht
